Here in the parish of South with New Hinksey, we are very fortunate to have two parish churches within our boundaries.
St John’s is the larger church situated in New Hinksey, however St Laurence in South Hinksey is a mediaeval gem.
St Laurence is a traditional, picturesque church situated in a quaint village. The building itself is a Grade Two listed building, being able to trace its roots back to the 12th Century Norman period. Having survived as a local place of worship through centuries, including the English Civil War where it was partially destroyed, it has gone through a number of rebuild, refurbishments and modernisations over the centuries but remains a lovely space for worship and community to this day.
Services at St Laurence
At St Laurence we have a Holy Communion service at 9.15am on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of every month, and you would be very welcome!
